About us

Workforce & Training

PJD employs over 250 specialists and emphasises workforce development through its training division, ACTTnow.

The company maintains a commitment to apprenticeships, aiming to have at least 10% of its permanent workforce enrolled in apprenticeship programs, ensuring a steady influx of skilled talent.

Health & Safety

At PJD, health and safety are a core priority across all operations. We are committed to ensuring all supervisory staff receive industry-leading training, beginning with IOSH Managing Safely as a minimum standard.

We aim for all supervisors to complete the NEBOSH General Certificate within their first 12 months of employment. All members of our Health & Safety Management Team are trained to NEBOSH standards as a baseline requirement.

For each project, we develop a site-specific training matrix, enabling site management to verify that all personnel hold the necessary qualifications and competencies before being mobilised to work.

All operational personnel are provided with “6 Pack” training, covering key safety disciplines:

✔ CCNSG Safety Passport

✔ Medium Risk Confined Space

✔ Manual Handling

✔ Working at Height (including Harness Use)

✔ Abrasive Wheels

✔ Fire Awareness and Extinguisher Use

Trade-specific training requirements are monitored via our integrated HR system, KRONOS, which alerts line managers 90, 60, and 30 days prior to certification expiry, ensuring all refresher training is arranged in a timely manner.

All training is delivered through ACTTnow, our specialist training provider and sister company, which is accredited to deliver ECITB, CITB, and City & Guilds courses.
